Custom fighter archetype - Monster Hunter



While most fighters rely on pure martial mastery to achieve victory, a few dabble in magical tricks to augment their combat capability.

A monster hunter is not proficient in knowledge(engineering) and instead gets knowledge(nature).
This ability alters class skills.

School: At first level a monster hunter selects between the discipline of the light, medium, or heavy armor. A monster hunter who selects the light discipline gains the weapon finesse feat and is proficient with light armor as well as gaining evasion at level 2. A monster hunter of the medium discipline gains endurance and die hard as well as proficiency with light and medium armor. A monster hunter of the heavy discipline gains light, medium, and heavy armor proficiency, the power attack feat, and the stalwart feat at level 8.
This replaces the feat gained at first level and modifies armor proficiencies and shield proficiencies.

Monster Lore - Starting at 2nd level a monster hunter gains +1 to any checks to identify monsters. This bonus increases by +1 every 4 levels.
This ability replaces bravery.

Runes: At 2nd level the monster hunter unlocks the ability to use magical runes as a SLA. A monster hunter may use these runes a number of times each day = 1/2 monster hunter level + wis modifier. Using a rune requires one hand to be free.

Scutum - As an immediate action when an attack is rolled against the monster hunter may gain DR 5 against the next hit he takes this round. This must be used before the attack is resolved. This increases by 5 every 4 levels to a max of 25 at level 18.

Ars - As a swift action gain +2 bonus to diplomacy check made this round. This increases by 2 every 4 levels to a max of +10 at level 18.

Dis - As a standard action perform a bull rush attempt with a +2 against a target within 10 feet. This increases by +2 and a range increase of 10 feet every 4 levels to a max of +10 with 50 feet range at level 18.

Eiecto - As a swift action, imbue a weapon or armor with ghost touch for two rounds. This increases by 2 rounds every 4 levels to a max of 10 rounds at level 18. Using this ability on an armor expends 2 uses of Eiecto.

Igni - As a standard action unleash a 10-foot cone that does 1d10 fire damage. Reflex for half with a DC of 10+1/2 level +wis mod. This increases by 1d10 and a range increase of 5 feet every 4 levels to a max of 5d10 in a 30-foot cone at level 18.
This ability replaces the bonus feat granted at levels 2/6/10/14/18.

This archetype fits well with the Mutation Warrior archetype.
